Stamp Duty Land Tax

Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) was introduced on 1 December 2003 to replace the old system of Stamp Duty on property.  Whilst it is still essentially a tax on property, the new regime has had to incorporate many complex legal concepts into its structure and for the unadvised, could easily create tax problems.

Specialist Advice

At EDF Tax, we provide specialist advice on this complex tax, recognising that whilst the rates of SDLT are in themselves seemingly low, the nature of property transactions are often high value, and so a mistake with the SDLT position could result in a significant additional transaction cost.

Whether you are a company, individual, or a professional adviser, our specialist SDLT team can advise on the SDLT position on any property transaction.

Stamp Duty Land Tax Experience

Our experienced team includes tax qualified, non-practising solicitors enabling us to provide professional and rounded SDLT advice on both residential and commercial land transactions.
